Areas of Practice

I advise consumers, entrepreneurs, the self-employed, and small businesses in selected areas of law. Not every problem is complicated. However, many things become unnecessarily expensive if one reacts too late or starts at the wrong point.

For me, the focus is not on the question of what can somehow be argued with enough perseverance. What matters is what is legally sound in the specific case, what makes economic sense, and what can be reasonably enforced.

On the following pages, you will find an overview of the individual areas of law.

Employment Law →

Termination, severance agreements, formal warnings, remuneration, references, or disputes over individual clauses in employment contracts: In labor law, it is often not just about the legal situation, but also about time pressure and tangible economic consequences.

I advise employees and employers on labor law issues and disputes—out of court and, if necessary, in legal proceedings. The decisive factor is not just what would be theoretically possible, but what is sensible in the specific case.

Banking Law & Phishing / Smishing →

Following phishing, smishing, or any other unauthorized payment, the same question usually arises quickly: Is the bank required to provide a refund or not? The answer is rarely found in the bank’s first letter, and even less frequently in their favorite phrase regarding alleged gross negligence.

I examine whether claims against banks or payment service providers exist, which objections are legally sound, and how the prospects of success can be realistically assessed.

Data Protection & GDPR →

Data protection does not only affect large corporations, but also specifically small and medium-sized enterprises. Those who process personal data do not need a wall of text, but a solution that is legally sound and works in everyday practice.

I provide advice on GDPR compliance, website and online topics, employee data, and data protection claims. Data protection does not have to sound good. It has to be correct.

Contract Law →

In contract law, it is often decided before the signature is even set how expensive it might become later. And if the other party does not pay, does not deliver, or remembers agreements only very selectively, a poor regulation quickly becomes an economic problem.

I review contracts, assess risks, and enforce claims. Good contracts do not always prevent disputes. Bad ones reliably encourage them.

Tenancy & Real Estate Law →

In tenancy and real estate law, the problem is rarely the big principle, but almost always the costly detail. Service charge statements, defects, terminations, contract clauses, or commercial tenancies often develop economic relevance faster than one would like.

I advise tenants and landlords on tenancy and real estate law issues and examine which solution is legally sound and practically sensible.

Investment Advice & Financial Investment →

Anyone who has lost money and has doubts about the advice they received does not need reassuring formulas, but a sober assessment: Are there resilient starting points, and is taking action even worthwhile?

I examine whether advisory errors, lack of disclosure, or other breaches of duty are a factor—both legally and economically. Not every loss justifies a claim. But not every supposedly proper consultation was actually one in reality.

Public Law, School Law & Neighbor Disputes

Some mandates cannot be neatly assigned to any of the classic categories and are nevertheless anything but incidental. This applies, for example, to selected public law issues, school law constellations, or neighbor disputes with legal and practical relevance.

Here, too, I examine what is legally important, which steps are sensible, and whether taking action is worthwhile.

Is your matter not listed?

Not every concern fits into a heading right away. It doesn’t have to. If you are unsure whether your case is correctly categorized here, briefly describe the problem to me. It can then usually be clarified quickly whether and how I can be of assistance.

Briefly describe what this is about.
